Week 7 - Persevere
June
18th 2014
The
past couple of days have been awesome! So much hard yakka! On Monday we did
4:30 hours of finding! And boy did we ever reap the benefits. We got 4
potentials. More finding = more miracles. It also makes you so much more
in-tune with the spirit. Elder Hanson went to North Brisbane, lucky guy. And
the new Elder is Elder Herry! He is pretty funny. He is from Guam and him and
Elder Motuliki are a crack up. I'll definitely miss Elder Hanson though. We
became really good friends.
Today we found 4 new potentials and followed up
with 2 from Monday's finding. Danielle is a single mom who is really excited to
learn about resurrection and life after this one. Then Derek is this grease
monkey hard, metal looking guy, who you wouldn't think twice about talking to.
He's covered in tattoos and probably smokes a pack a day but he is probably one
of the nicest guys I have ever met. He's a good person who has come from a dark
past. I'm really excited for him to progress.
And for the funny story of the
day. We met this old crazy guy who lives in his front yard which pretty much
looks like the bush. He started to explain that the Titanic could've have saved
itself by driving backwards, that vultures are immune to cancer, making vulture
blood the cure, and that camels can't get diabetes. It was... ummm... enlightening.
Then he said he was the center of the universe. Just another crazy day in
Australia!

"Our
birth is but a sleep and a forgetting.
The
soul that rises with us, our life's star, hath had elsewhere it's setting.
And
cometh from afar;
Not
in entire forgetfulness, and not in utter nakedness,
But
trailing clouds of glory do we come,
From
God, who is our home."

Week 6 -- Transfers! (2/18)
June 14th 2014
This past week has been great! All of our investigators are going really well. Yesterday me and Elder Hanson took a four hour trip to Brisbane and picked up our car after two weeks without it. It is so nice to finally have it back. Then today was the Manuel's wedding!!!!! Which means they can get baptized! My first baptism :D I am so excited for them. After the wedding we went to Elder Hanson's and Motuliki's baptism. It was fun. The four of us sang "How Great Thou Art"and everyone said it was really good. Although they might have just been being nice to us. After that me and Elder Kreth took the car and drove around and cleared up the ward list. Heaps of people yelled at us and what not but it's more entertaining than anything. It's the last day of my first transfer already. I'm really excited to find out what happens! I would love to stay. If it follows pattern I would be the Elder who stays in this area for six months but who knows! I'll be cheery wherever the Lord needs me!

Week 5
June 8th 2014
The craziest things happen when I go on trade-offs... I was with Elder Motuliki and we were out finding. We were walking down this really long drive way and all the sudden Motuliki starts to run. I turn around to discover a massive dog lunging at me. Then out of no where Motuliki comes from behing, running at the dog, and smashes it with his water bottle. As it turns back to come at me again I whip my bag of my shouldar and am ready to smash it. I point at it and say "GO". The dog instantly turns and runs away. Thanks to Motuliki I didn't end up in the hospital. I'm gonna have to warn people before the go on trade-offs with me. Other than that little experience it's been an awesome week. T.K. an 11 yr. old boy, is going to get baptized hopefully! As long as his mom supports him :P We even found out his dad is being taught about 3 hours up north in Stanthorpe. So he wants to come to the baptism. The Manuel's have their wedding this weekend. Which means they are getting baptized in two weeeekksss!!!! Jody, Jamall, and Nadia, and now Jamalls little sister Mikyla are doing so well. They seem really commited to baptism so now we just have to get them to church. The big problem is that Jody and Nadia are just "partners". It drives me nuts. No one gets married here. Which mean they are breaking the law of chastity which means no baptism. Oh well. So many great things are happening. Missionary work is truly the best work. I can feel everyone's prayers for me as I go about the work. May we all see miracles in the upcoming weeks!

Week 4 - Logan is 19 today! (Well, tomorrow)
May 28th 2014
Miracles miracles miracles!!! So we are teaching a family and the oldest kid wants to get baptized. The mom then told us that his dad who lives up north is getting taught by someone as well. She forgot who so she gave him a ring and he is being taught by the Elders in Stanthorpe!! He wants to come down for the baptism as well!
The dad I talked about previously, Jody, whom hasnt ever seen the misisonaries is awesome! He was a proffesional skater and he totally reminds me of Carter haha. He is super excited about the gospel. Him, his partner, Nadia, their son Jamall, all want to get baptized! Great things are happening. I also got my first potential on my own haha. His name is Jean and he is from Kenya. He has a friend on a mission and has always been interested in taking the discussions so hopefully things go well with him.
May 29th 2014
We had trade-offs today! Me and Elder Hanson went to my area and I was senior companion for the day. Things went really well. As we were biking home I rode past a stop sign without thinking about it. As I come the next one I here "STOP"! And so I did. A second later a ute whips by. I would have died if I didn't listen to the spirit. But I'm alive so all good right?
Man... Time is going by so quickly. It seems like yesterday that I turned 18 and was preparing for the Melchizedek Priesthood. Whats even crazier is that I've been out for over a month already. I've changed so much is such a short amount of time. Crazy... Well, here's to 19 and many more months of my mission!!! I love you all so much and thank you for your support <3 XOXOXOXO
